Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
Producer for Special Projects and other News Production, as assigned
Review production schedule and editorial content for shows
Coordinate specific production and staffing needs for broadcasts, including editing as needed
Review original editorial content for the piece or package that will be used during the show or newscast. Define the style and tone of a package or piece, including selecting all sound bites and footage. Supervise scripts and the editing of a story
Field Produce stories and assist with live shots as needed. Prepare research for stories as needed
Attain a solid knowledge of all show elements; how they work and how they are applied within a show
Provide story ideas and suggestions to improve broadcasts on a regular basis
Produce briefs, newscast, and segments for quality control and content

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
General computer skills in order to work: INEWS, News Channel, etc
Solid editing, writing and production principals
Three years Control Room experience
Three years of experience working live TV broadcasts or five years of experience working in television
College or University degree required
Must read and speak Spanish fluently
Ability to interact effectively with operations personnel and specific department personnel who can impact the daily operations of the assignment desk assistant
Must be able to work a non-conventional work schedule and must have a valid passport for travel (if needed)
Ability to perform operations, even with last minute changes
Ability to multi-task and follow directions from numerous sources
Ability to work as a member of a team
Ability to communicate in a fast-paced and stressful environment
Must be able to represent the department and company in a professional and ethical manner at all times

Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must be 18 years or older
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
Must be fluent in English and Spanish (speak, read & write)

Ability to communicate effectively and work well with people while under pressure
Familiarity with local leaders a plus
Up to date on and interested in current news events
Knowledge of laws of libel, slander and applicable FCC rules and regulations

Team player who is flexible
Displays a positive work ethic and can work under tight deadlines
